Emily’s Weekly Favorites #8

Howdy scrappers! Thank you for joining me for another week of my favorite links! These are all links I discovered this week – if you use Project Life, you will love this post. If not, there’s still something here for you! Promise. 🙂

Check them out below!

01 I am pretty excited about my recent discovery of this scrapbooking challenges website.

02 This video of a dog reunited with it’s owner after seven months apart is SO sweet.

03 I am really starting to admire simple, clean, white Project Life pages, like this one. There’s a part of me that wants to change my style to something similar, but then… I love color. And I love the variety of my pages. So I am going to stick with my colorful, crazy pages, and just admire these beautiful, clean pages from afar. 😛

04 I had NO IDEA that Project Life template pages like this existed. I am super excited to find one I love and try it out.

05 How do you feel about spanking? I know this can be a controversial subject, but I just wanted to share this interesting article. That is all. We’ll leave it at that. 🙂

06 Lately I have been missing traditional Project Life, because I miss playing with the cards and the paper itself. This video makes me miss it even more. I also wish I was cool enough to stitch on my pages, but the reality is, I don’t even own a sewing machine and if I did… I would never do this. That’s the best part of the PL app for me, it’s fast and easy and I get things done. With a toddler running around and working a full-time job… that’s pretty much the best I can do right now.

07 This video shows you how to create Project Life pages using product that isn’t actually made for PL scrapping. You can use any scrapbooking materials you have. Check it out.

08 If I were a dog, this might be me.

09 Mixed media monthly scrapbooking kits… SAY WHAT?

Thanks again for joining me. I hope to see you again next week! 🙂

Purple Peach Mini Kit – Free Download Here

One of the things I would love to do with my blog is create (and possibly sell) Project Life cards/scrapbooking kits for the public to use. I had some free time on my hands this weekend, so I decided to work on my first mini kit, the Purple Peach Mini Kit by Scrappy Nerd (that’s me!), and just see how it did out there in the big wide Internet world.

The Purple Peach mini kit includes twelve 3×4 cards and twelve 4×6 cards. Half of those are designed by me, the other half are just solid colored cards that can be used for layering or journaling. I used a six color palette as my inspiration, so each of those solid colored cards is one of the colors from the palette. You can see each of the designed cards in the graphic below.

Here is a Project Life scrapbook page I made using these cards (along with two cards from the Inspire Edition in the PL app.)

If you would like to download the cards, click here! They don’t cost a thing! You can download them as many times as you would like and feel free to share with your friends and/or on social media.

Thank you!

Emily’s Weekly Favorites #7

Welcome to another week of Emily’s Favorites Links! Are you married? Do you have children? Do you like cheese? If so, there’s something here for you this week! 🙂

Let’s get started!

01  I really loved this article about marriage and how a couple’s love changes throughout their lifetime together.

02  An interesting viewpoint on whether or not your child should be taught to share.

03  This video made me cry my eyes out. What a miracle.

04  I totally think I am going to have to do this with one of my baby girl’s old onesies. How adorable is this?

05  This video gave me chills.

06  I found some worksheets for practicing hand lettering and calligraphy. Check them out here and here. I can’t wait to get started.

07  This Simple Gesture Stops Kids from Interrupting – This is an interesting read. I definitely think this could work with older children and it also would depend on the child themselves. It might not work for a sensitive, exuberant child, but I definitely think it has it’s place.

08  “This stage of life. It’s hard, you guys. I’m talking right now to you moms who are in your early to mid 30’s. You have kids. Likely two, three, maybe four of them. They probably range in age from newborns to 7 or 8 year-olds. (Give or take a few, on all of the above mentioned stats).” This! It really resonated with me.

09  I would pay a lot of money for a bite of this cheesy pasta.

I hope you found something to read & enjoy this week. Drop me a line and let me know what type of links you would like to see here!
